The West African Book Tour for “Wedged Between Man and God”: A book by Unoma Azuah
The West African Book Tour for Wedged Between Man and God, an anthology amplifying queer women’s voices, spanned Lagos, Nigeria; Cotonou, Benin; Lomé, Togo; and Accra, Ghana from 30 May to 16 June 2025.
More than a literary promotion, the tour created safe spaces for queer individuals—primarily women—to share lived experiences, connect with others, and foster activism.
Through intimate reading sessions and open discussions, contributors and audiences engaged in honest dialogue, addressing challenges and celebrating resilience. The tour aimed to reach isolated queer communities, reminding them that they are not alone, while promoting the anthology’s stories of identity, struggle, and hope.
