We Exist: A documentary series by OLS Ghana
A documentary series aimed at understanding and shedding light on the struggles of the queer community in Ghana. The three short documentaries explore different facets of queer life in Ghana.
The first focuses on the present-day realities of queer existence, featuring activists, community members, and allies speaking about their experiences.
The second centers on joyful resistance, with queer people sharing the ways they sustain their physical and psychological well-being. It explores how queer individuals navigate acceptance within their families, friendships, and broader society, and how they reconcile their sexuality with faith.
The third looks at the historical cultural existence of queer people in Ghana, bringing together historians, activists, and allies to tell stories that trace the presence and lived realities of queer people across Ghana’s history.
