The Queer Naija Project: An audiovisual project by Odi Agev
The Queer Naija project comprised a visual public service announcement (PSA) and a queer music EP (Extended Play).
The public service announcement highlights the key findings of a study that examines the landscape of intimate partner violence (IPV) in Nigeria, exploring its prevalence, reporting mechanisms, support services, and the influence of cultural and legal factors on experiences of IPV.
The music EP has five songs that are aimed at celebrating queerness and diversity in Nigeria. Music has continued to be a coping mechanism for most Nigerians, and feedback from the listening party and social media engagements shows that the community embraced the EP and is still enjoying the music.
